Brevard County

 Brevard County, Florida is located east of Orlando.  It is part of the eighteenth Judicial Circuit and there are 11 county court Judges presiding in the county.  The main law enforcement agency is the Brevard County Sheriffs Office and they are extremely proactive in traffic enforcement and crime fighting.  They consistently arrest over 1,000 people for DUI yearly and issue thousands of citations to motorists driving through the county. 

Other law enforcement agencies within the county include, City of Cape Canaveral police, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Indialatnic, Indian Harbor, Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Melbourne Village,  Palm Bay, Palm Shore, Rockledge, Satellite Beach, Titusville and West Melbourne.  

In total, law enforcement officers in Brevard issue over 17,000 citations yearly for criminal violations.  Typically, between 15-20 percent are DUI arrests and almost half are for driving while license suspended or no valid drivers license.  Aside from criminal violations, law enforcement officers in the county issued almost 75,000 violations for non-criminal moving violations.  Every year over half of the violations issued are for speeding tickets.  Brevard county officers use laser, radar, police, and fix winged airplanes in speed enforcement.
