Clay County Florida is located in the Jacksonville area in northeast Florida. The population of the county is over 140,000. There was over 22,000 moving infractions issued last year in the county, over half for unlawful speed. Aside from the Clay County Sheriffs Office, there are several municipal or city police departments. They include the cities of Green Cove, Middleburg, and Orange Park.
Clay county has two county court Judges, Timothy Collins and Richard Townsend. In addition the county has four Circuit Court Judges, William Wilkes, Frederic Buttner, McCarthy Crenshaw, and Daniel Wilensky.
Law enforcement in Clay county are very proactive. They issued over 3,600 criminal citations last year. Most of them, over half, were for driving while license suspended in violation of Florida Statute 322.34 and no valid driver's license in violation of Florida statute 322.03 (1).
