Hillsborough County, Florida, which includes Tampa, has a population just short of one million. Hillsborough County is the fourth most populated county in the State of Florida. Law enforcement in Hillsborough County issued close to 190,000 moving violations last year. Most of the citations written last year were written for unlawful speed. The Tampa Police Department issued just shy of 30,000 speeding tickets last year. The department has motorcycles, unmarked vehicles, and a helicopter as their disposal to enforce traffic laws.
