Jackson County

 Jackson County Florida is located in the Florida panhandle on the Georgia border.  Last year Jackson County law enforcement issued over 9,000 moving violations to motorists traveling through the county.  The county seat is Marianna and the counties population is approximately 50,000.  Aside from the Jackson County Sheriffs Office, other law enforcement agencies include the city police departments of Cottondale, Graceville, Marianna, and Sneads.

Law enforcement in Jackson County issued over 9,200 citations for moving infractions.  Over 7600 of these citations were issued for unawful speed.  Half of those tickets were issued by the Florida Highway Patrol.  Aside from speeding tickets, law enforcement issued close to 450 tickets for careless driving.  Most of these tickets were issued following a crash investigation.  Law enforcement also issued close to 1,000 criminal violations last year.  Not suprisingly, a majority of the criminal violations were for driving while license suspended (Florida statute 322.34) or no valid driver's license (Florida Statute 322.03 (1)).

There is one county Judge in Jackson County, Woodrow Hatcher.  There are two Circuit Court Judges assigned to Jackson County, Brantley Clark and William Wright.
