According to a press release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the River Club school speed zone is now in compliance with FDOT standards. With the school zone now up and running again, the sheriff’s office and Florida Highway Patrol will be enforcing the school zone with speeding tickets.
In September of 2008 a judge ruled that the River Club school zone did not have adequate signage and markings to meet FDOT standards. The area has since been improved and now meets those standards. The sheriff’s and FHP will be monitoring the 20 M.P.H. zone for speeders and will hand out traffic tickets for speeding.
