St. Petersburg Man Runs Stop Sign And Crashes Into A Police Car Injuring Three People

A St. Petersburg police officer and a runaway girl handcuffed in his back seat were injured Monday night by a car that ran a stop sign and collided with the patrol car. Yamin Vann has been identified as the driver who the officer was attempting to stop. Both the police officer in the patrol car and detainee in the back suffered minor injuries. Vann was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with minor injuries as well.

Officer Matthew Stringfellow reportedly tried to stop Vann’s 2009 Nissan. Vann fled the traffic stop and then ran the stop sign colliding with the police officer. Vann’s car rolled over due to the traffic accident . The girl in the back of the officer’s car was a minor so her name has not been released.
