Pinellas Habitual Traffic Offender Busted For 15th Time For Driving Without A License

A Gulfport man who was declared a habitual traffic offender in Pinellas County has been arrested for felony driving with a suspended license. This is the 15th time that Randolph Lane Borrow has been arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked license in the last 13 years. According to TampaBay.com he has more than 40 Florida traffic tickets in the last 20 years.

Borrow had his license suspended for five years in April of 2009. He was pulled over for a seat belt violation and his truck had an expired temporary tag. When Gulfport Police ran a check on him they found 14 previous convictions on the man

Gabrielle Shaink Trudeau, a 78-year-old grandmother, spent two weeks behind bars over Thanksgiving due to a ticket for driving with a suspended license. The Hallandale Beach woman was held in the Broward County Jail on a $2000 bond following the traffic citation. The elderly woman was recently convicted of a traffic ticket in Miami for improper backing following an accident there.

The case made the news because many in the judicial system feel the woman fell through the cracks. She was an ideal candidate to be released on her own recognizance but nobody from the public defender

For the third straight year there were fewer traffic tickets issued in Highlands County than the previous year. In 2009, there were just over 14,000 traffic cases filed in Highlands County. That is down nearly 1,800 from 2008 and down more than 6,000 from 2007. The last time there was an increase in traffic citations in Highlands County was in 2006.

The reigning National Champion Florida Gators have had a few public embarrassments lately, the latest being the DUI arrest of star linebacker Carlos Dunlap. Now there is more bad news coming out of Gainesville. According to a story in the Orlando Sentinel Gator football players have received 251 traffic citations in Alachua County. The traffic tickets range from speeding tickets to driving with a suspended license. Six Gator football players have received double digit traffic citations and more than one faced criminal charges.
