Commercial Drivers

Florida Department of Transportation State Law Enforcement OfficerIndividuals holding a Class A, B, or C license are categorized by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as commercial drivers.  Commercial drivers have an extremely challenging job since they are constantly on the road trying to make a living.  As a result, the chances are greater that you will come into contact with law enforcement.  Most commercial drivers are on the road for tens of thousands of miles a year and their license is their life.  Unfortunately, several years ago the Florida legislature clamped down on the ability of commercial drivers to elect traffic school on moving violations.  Does that mean we can't ask the Court to keep the points off?  The answer is NO

Most Judges across the State of Florida realize that commercial drivers are usually safe drivers who try to protect their license status.  As a result we can go to Court and ask the Judge not to put any points on your license.  That doesn't mean that the Judge won't make you pay some fines and court costs and possibly be court ordered to attend a traffic school.  The Judges across the state still have the power to withhold adjudication and not assess any points on your official motor vehicle record.  Whether you are licensed in Florida or you possess a commercial license from another state, call our office immediately at 1-800-FIGHT-IT.  Let us look at the facts of your case, determine if there are any legal defenses and explore the possibility of keeping the points off your record.
