Jefferson County

 Jefferson County, Florida is located east of Tallahassee.  The main law enforcement agency in the county is the Jefferson County sheriffs office.  Other law enforcement agencies include  the city of Monticello and Florida Highway Patrol.  Last year law enforcement officers in Jefferson County, Florida issued over 4,800 civil infractions.  Almost all of those infractions were issued for unlawful speed.  Law enforcement also issued close to 325 criminal citations for offenses ranging from DUI, driving while license suspended, and no valid driver's license.

The county judge in Jefferson County is Robert Plaines.  The County Judge listens to all traffic ticket cases such as speed, careless driving, failure-to-yield right of way, and unknowingly driving while license suspended.  In addition, the County Court Judge presides over misdemeanor cases including, DUI, possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended, and no valid driver's license.
