Orange County Courthouse, 425 N Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801Orange County, Florida is home to the city of Orlando.  The population of Orange County is over 1 million.  There are several law enforcement agencies in the county including the Orange County Sheriffs Office, Apopka police, Conway police, Eatonville, Edgewood, Maitland, Oakland, Ocoee, Orlando, University of Central Florida, Windermere, Winter Garden, and Winter Park.  Last year law enforcement in Orange County, Florida issued over 236,000 moving violations.  At least one-third of those violations were issued for unlawful speed with the second most number of citations being written for running a red light.  To combat aggressive drivers and speeders, the Florida Highway Patrol has created an I-4 squad.  That squad's main function is to stop motorists using laser and radar devices.

Orange County is part of Florida's ninth Judicial Circuit.  Orange and Osceloa make up the ninth Judicial Circuit.  There are 18 County Court Judges assigned to Orange County.  Some Judge's hear criminal cases while others preside over civil cases.  The Judges in Orange County rotate through traffic court, listening to thousands of traffic cases per month.                

Aside from moving violations, law enforcement in Orange County issued over 31,000 criminal violations last year.  Almost 2/3 of the criminal citations were written for no valid driver's license in violation of Florida statute 322.03 or driving while license suspended in violation of Florida statute 322.34.
