GENERAL QUESTIONS
1) How can you represent clients with citations all over the state of Florida?

2) Will I speak to a real attorney?
Yes, you will always be able to talk to an attorney about your citation when you contact us. Our attorneys will be able to go over the various options you have on the citation as well as how the court process will go.
3) Can you guarantee to get my ticket dismissed?
No, we cannot make any guarantee regarding the disposition of your ticket. Be very careful of any attorney who tries to make guarantees. We can guarantee you will have an experienced attorney representing you in court and if there is something wrong with the ticket or a way to get the ticket dismissed we assure you we will do so.
4) How much will it cost for representation?
Costs will vary depending on the county and on the type of citation. The reason for this is depending on the county you may have more than one court date. Certain counties require two court dates to dispose of your citation. When you contact our office we will be able to tell you what our fee on the citation is. Sometimes the law enforcement officer who pulled you over will request a continuance on your ticket due to being in training or for another reason. Our initial fee will not change regardless of how many court dates you have.
5) Do I have to attend my court date?
In nearly every case the answer to this question is no. We will be able to attend court for you and will attempt to get your ticket dismissed. The one instance where you will have to attend is if you want to testify regarding your citation. Obviously, if you wish to testify regarding your citation you will need to attend the hearing. It is important if you decide you want to testify that you contact us before your hearing date so we can go over your testimony.
6) But it says I have a mandatory court date.
Even with a mandatory court date, normally, your attorney is able to attend court in your place.
7) Is it possible to have my ticket dismissed without me attending court?
Yes. While we cannot guarantee we will be able to have your ticket dismissed, not attending court is not a bar to having your citation dismissed. When we go to court we are able to inspect the law enforcement officer’s paperwork regarding your citation and test the officer’s memory of the citation. Should anything be incorrect we will get your ticket dismissed.
8) I think I am guilty, shouldn’t I just pay the ticket?
We never recommend someone paying their ticket before talking to one of our experienced attorneys. Your initial consultation is ALWAYS FREE so you have nothing to lose by giving us a call. We will be able to run your Florida driving record and let you know what we think the likely result will be in court. Even if we do not believe we can get the ticket dismissed there still is a very good chance we can keep the points off.
9) What does receiving a citation do to my insurance?
Receiving points on your license can cause your insurance premiums to go up. If you simply pay your ticket on a moving violation points will be assessed on your license. Every insurance company is different so you should contact an insurance agent to discuss the ramifications of a citation. The points will stay on your record for three years in Florida.
COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE
1) I have a CDL, what can I do with my ticket.
Due to recent changes in Florida law, drivers who possess a commercial license are no longer able to elect traffic school. If you pay the citation without electing a court hearing, you will receive points on your license. If you have received a moving violation we may be able to keep the points off. Based upon the facts of your case and your driving record, we can file a plea of not guilty for you and go to court on your behalf. Normally your appearance is not required pursuant to the Florida Rules of Traffic Court. We will go to Court for you and make sure that the officer can prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. We will make sure that all of their paperwork is up to date and equipment properly calibrated. We will also deal directly with the Court and explain to the Judge that you have a commercial license. The Judges are very familiar with the plight of commercial drivers. In most situations we will be able to negotiate a withhold of adjudication (no points) so that you don’t end up with points on your license.
2) I wasn’t driving a commercial vehicle at the time of my citation, does this matter?
Regardless of whether you were in a commercial vehicle or not if you have a commercial license you will not be able to elect traffic school. Your only options are to pay the ticket and receive points, hire a lawyer, or fight the ticket yourself.
