Driver’s License Points
Summary of “Driver’s License Points”
Stephen Higgins discusses keeping points off your driver’s license.
Traffic tickets are like haircuts. Everybody gets them. The opportunity to hire us to go to Court for you means that we can potentially keep the points off of your license. What people don’t realize is that over the course of time, after having paid several tickets, points are assessed to their license when they’re adjudicated guilty. Over the course of time, these points add up. Not only for purposes of insurance, but for purposes of a driver’s license suspension. There’s a statute in the state of Florida that specifically states that twelve (12) points within twelve (12) months means your license will be suspended for a period of thirty (30) days. Eighteen (18) points in eighteen (18) months means your license will be suspended for ninety (90) days. And twenty four (24) points in thirty six (36) months means your license will be suspended for one (1) year. This is a significant problem. People seem to think they can just pay the nominal fine to the Clerk of the Court and be done with it. This is not the case. A Points suspension is the last thing you need.
